Can I attach a file to a record?
Yes. Open a record and upload a file to it. You can download it, replace it with a new version (with a note saying what changed), remove it, and open the earlier versions from a history list on the record.
How much you can store: 10 GiB on the Free plan, 250 GiB on Business, counted across the whole account.
Removing a file does not destroy it. It detaches it from the current version of the record. An earlier version of that record still opens the file, on purpose, so that restoring an old version is not broken. If you need the contents actually wiped, ask us - that takes an operator running a clean-up, not a click.
Uploads happen in pieces with a checksum on each piece, so a large file resumes instead of starting again if your connection drops.
We have not set a maximum file size or a list of allowed file types, and we have not measured where the practical ceiling is, so please ask before you rely on uploading very large files.
One difference worth naming: in the Mac app, choosing and downloading files goes through the app itself rather than your browser, and downloads land in your Downloads folder.
