My Access 2021 support ends on 13 October. What happens to my database?
Your database keeps working. Access 2021, Access LTSC 2021 and the rest of Office 2021 leave Microsoft support on 13 October 2026. On 14 October your .accdb file opens exactly as it did the day before.
What stops is Microsoft's security fixes, bug fixes and help. There is no paid extension for Office 2021. If you use Access through a Microsoft 365 plan, none of this applies to you.
If you want to stay on Access, the simple route for one or two PCs is Access 2024: $179.99 per PC on the Microsoft Store (US price, checked 1 October 2026), supported until 9 October 2029; buy it on its own, because most Office 2024 bundles do not include Access.
If several people need the same database at once, or from different places, that is where Bionic Forms helps. Export your tables from Access to Excel or CSV and drop the files in; we cannot open an .accdb file directly. The desktop app keeps working offline on each computer. Access forms, reports and VBA do not come across, so plan on rebuilding those.
